Personal Insolvency Training – March 2017

A one day peronal insolvency seminar, ideal for money advisers and legal practitioners who regularly advise clients who are in sequestrations or protected trust deeds.

The event will also examine issues that can arise after a consumer has obtained their discharge from a protected trust deed or sequestration.

Pre Entry Awareness:

Delegates should have a basic understanding of personal insolvency in Scotland, the solutions available and the legal criteria and framework surrounding them.

Outcome:

The day will equip delegates with a greater awareness of the legal and practical issues that arise when advising consumers on personal insolvency, and what issues can arise during and after insolvency in relation to the administration of their estate. Alan McIntosh is an approved money adviser and has worked in the Scottish money advice and personal insolvency industry for 16 years. He was previously the Project Manager for Govan Law Centre’s Personal Insolvency Law Unit.

He has previously worked in the voluntary, public and private sector. He has written extensively for a number of journals on the issue of debt and personal and personal insolvency, including for the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland, Credit Today, Scolag and The Adviser.
He has also spoken at numerous events on the issue of personal debt including events organised by Money Advice Scotland, the Law Society of Scotland, the Legal Services Agency, Shelter (Scotland) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants amongst others..
He is also a Personal Insolvency Practitioner in the Republic of Ireland.
